Join us for a celebration of PAUL E. MASON – Looking for Baudin– Looking for Baudin:  21st Century Reliquaries Encounter c.1800 Terra Australis, with introductory remarks by Patrice O’Shea.

Referencing the expedition of French explorer Nicolas Baudin (1754-1803), Mason’s reliquaries are a contemporary interpretation of early contact with Aboriginal Australia.  They deal with the politics of exploration, discovery and colonial prospecting using stone, pewter, gold leaf surfaced cast resin and French historical objects.
