We’re raising funds to purchase new artworks by living artists and ensure the TAMA Collection remains dynamic, inclusive, and reflective of contemporary practice.

Every dollar raised up to $5000 between now and 22nd October will be matched by Creative Australia. This doubles the value of every donation up to our $5000 target!

Funds raised on AusArt Day will enable us to purchase new artworks by living, contemporary artists. Acquiring new artworks means maintaining a living, breathing art collection that continues to engage with new ideas, voices, and materials. The TAMA Collection underpins everything the Gallery does; it is a powerful tool for education, creative expression, wellbeing and connection. The artworks are regularly displayed in exhibitions that reach thousands of visitors each year, from local school groups to interstate tourists.

Buying artwork plays a crucial role in supporting artists, particularly those working in textile and fibre practices, which have historically been undervalued. By collecting and preserving work by contemporary artists TAMA affirms the value of their contributions and supports their ongoing careers.

Your donation helps us bring important contemporary textile artworks into the collection, to care for them and share them with our local community, visitors to our region and future generations.
